Temporary Change to Period Activity Pay in 2027

PAP payment dates cannot extend beyond June 23, 2027, during the Workday Finance transition.

As the university prepares for the transition to Workday Finance, there is a temporary change to how Period Activity Pay (PAP) requests must be entered.

For the Workday Finance transition only, PAP payment end dates cannot extend beyond June 23, 2027. This one-time requirement applies to any new PAP that would otherwise have payment dates crossing June 23, 2027.

If you have already submitted a PAP with payment dates extending beyond June 23, 2027, Hal Harrington will contact you directly to make any necessary revisions. No action is needed unless you are contacted.

For PAPs that have not yet been initiated, follow the updated guidance below.

Academic Year PAP (Fiscal Year 2027/2028)

  • Create one PAP with payment dates August 1, 2026 – June 23, 2027.
  • If needed, create a second PAP with payment dates June 24, 2027 – June 30, 2027.
  • If your department prefers the employee to receive all fiscal year payments by June 30, 2027, you only need to process one PAP. This is the approach most departments use.

Full Summer 2027 PAP

  • Create one PAP with payment dates May 24, 2027 – June 23, 2027.
  • Create a second PAP within the same task using the (+) with payment dates June 24, 2027 – July 24, 2027.
  • Apply this same approach to any PAP with payment dates that begin before June 24, 2027, and end on or after June 24, 2027.

To support employees through this transition, we have created a quick checklist resource. We also plan to update the PAP job aid and provide a new demonstration covering the cutover process.

After the Workday Finance transition is complete, PAPs will no longer need to be divided into two parts.
