Apply now to be an Isom Fellow

Teaching and Research Fellowships at the Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies

The Sarah Isom Center invites faculty at the University of Mississippi to apply for a two-year fellowship at the Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies.

Isom Fellows will teach one class a semester for the Gender Studies program. One may be a cross-listed course with the fellow’s home department; the other will be a graduate or undergraduate Gender Studies class. The Isom Center director will coordinate with the Fellow’s home departmental chair to cover the class.

The Isom Center will support Fellows in research projects in gender and sexuality for the two-year period. This may include grantwriting support, research assistance, and organizing symposia or conferences. Fellows will also assist in planning the Isom Student Gender Conference, and coordinate with the Isom Center for lectures and other campus events, as relevant to their teaching and research interests. The Isom Fellows programs is flexible to meet the needs of interested faculty and their home departments.

Interested applicants should contact Isom Director Jaime Harker to discuss possible research projects, classes, and programs. Dr. Harker will meet with prospective fellows and their chairs to work out the details of a two-year fellowship. Please send queries to jlharker@olemiss.edu by February 1, 2017.
