The SMBHC announces a competition for Faculty Summer Stipends to support faculty in designing honors courses to focus on major issues and opportunities in any academic discipline.  The coursework and pedagogy should be “visionary,” looking toward a highly analytical and deeply reflective grasp of the proposed subject.  In short, toward a 20/20 understanding of a situation significant for 2020.  Proposals are due by March 19; stipends of $5,000 will be awarded for course design during summer 2018, with courses to be taught sometime during the next two academic years.  More information is available online.  All UM faculty members are invited to submit proposals.  Questions can be directed to Dean Douglass Sullivan-González, dsg@olemiss.edu.
