This course is half online and half classroom. The online “blended” course incorporates the latest science, teaching students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies. The blended course features award-winning simulation learning – an interactive experience where you will respond to real-world emergencies in a virtual setting – which will prepare you for the instructor-led classroom skill session. Once participants successful complete the online portion of the class they will participate in an In-Person Session led by an ARC Instructor. During this time, the participants will review material and complete skill and assessment sessions. Upon completion, students will receive a 2-year certification through the American Red Cross. The course is sponsored by University of Mississippi Campus Recreation, RebelWell, the City of Oxford, and the Oxford Conference Center.
