“A seamless piece of t heater, which Clapp delivers with authentic New England wit and charm…a must see! (Broadway World)

“Frost truly came alive…downright entertaining…it’s an intimate visit with a great man.” (Times Argus)

“The poet lives and breathes in Clapp’s performance.” (Lowell Sun)

For nearly fifty years, Robert Frost “barded” around the country charming audiences with his celebrated verse and rascally sense of humor. Played by Emmy-winning actor Gordon Clapp (NYPD Blue’s Detective Medavoy), Frost’s great wit and poetry are heard afresh in the award-winning one-man show, Robert Frost: This Verse Business. In Clapp’s acclaimed performance, the funny and flinty old icon shares his poems and his pointed “wild surmises” on religion, science, “liberals,” and “conservatives.” Culled from actual recordings, interviews, and letters, Robert Frost: This Verse Business is both an exhilarating glimpse of the public and private faces of America’s beloved poet and an entertaining testament to the intrinsic value of the arts.

Best known for his Emmy-winning role as Detective Greg Medavoy on NBC’s NYPD Blue, Gordon Clapp stars in a one-person play about the great American poet, Robert Frost, who “barded” around the country for nearly half a century with his poetry, rascally wit, and “promises to keep.” Clapp brings uncanny authenticity and joy to his Frost – the American literary “rock star” of his day.
