Study Abroad in Africa Summer 2019

Global Health: Food Security and Nutrition in Ethiopia


Join Professor Anne Cafer on this study abroad program in Ethiopia, which provides a unique opportunity to enhance the international experience and research skills of UM students, including scientific data collection, data analysis, and presentation. Students will experience cultural immersion while conducting research in a variety of cultural settings. Students will gain a greater understanding of bio-cultural adaptation, the impact of poor nutrition on growth and development and overall health, as well as the multifaceted challenges of agricultural production, environmental degradation,
drought, and food insecurity. Earn 6 hours of SOC485 or SOHE301 credit.
