2020 Census Complete Count Committee Meeting

A UM Complete Count Committee seeks to promote awareness and increase 2020 Census completion rates among college students.

The Complete Count Committee (CCC) is a partnership between community members and the U.S. Census Bureau to educate and encourage residents to participate in the 2020 Census. Data from the census are used to determine how $675 billion is distributed by the federal government to state and local governments, including funding for programs like Head Start, Medicare, SNAP, and Pell grants.

As a university we have a special responsibility to ensure a complete count in the 2020 Census because of the direct impact to the LOU community through political representation, federal funding, and demographic statistics. Through the establishment of a CCC on campus, we hope to develop awareness about the census and increase completion rates among college students in the Lafayette-Oxford-University (LOU) community.
