Online Full Summer: WRIT 350: Writing for Digital Media

If you tweet or post instastories, you are a digital producer. Improve your skills by learning why and how to make texts with real meaning.

WRIT 350: Writing for Digital Media

a writing course for the digital age

Do you text, tweet, post to instagram, or compose vidoes for insta stories or tik tok? If so, you are already a writer and producer of digital texts.

Take your skills to the next level and learn how to interpret, plan, compose, revise, and share digital texts that have real meaning.

  • Students in WRIT 350 will aquire rhetorial processes for creating and   reading digital texts, giving them skills to use in other writing-based   courses and beyond academic settings.
  • Topics covered include web authoring, digital ethics, social media, and   remixing media.
  • By using design principles grounded in the ethical use of rhetoric,   students will learn to read common digital texts that are in the   public sphere, what such texts argue, and how to make use of these   design principles in their own work.
  • Students will more than analyze film, websites, online video, blogs,   and other social media; they will learn to make such media, thus   becoming producers as well as consumers of digital media.
  • By the time you finish this course, you will be able to produce your   own digital texts and explain the design and rationale for your   compositions.
