CSD 359 - Manual Communication for Winter Intersession

You can have fun learning sign language while getting a 300-level elective out of the way over winter intersession!

In Manual Communication, students will learn two signed systems - Pidgin Signed English (PSE) and Signed English. You will learn the most commonly used system between the deaf and hearing population, PSE, which uses American Sign Language in English grammatical word order.  This course also teaches Signed English which is used in schools working with deaf in helping to teach and develop literacy skills. Signed English uses initialized signs and word endings and all words in the sentence are represented.

This is a fun class for brand-new beginners who have always wanted to learn a little bit of "sign" in case you ever come in contact with a deaf person. It also counts as a 300-level elective!!
