Notice Concerning Upcoming Payroll Periods

Please see this important notice concerning the upcoming payrolls in 2020.

Dear University Employees,

Guidance is provided below for non-exempt (hourly) employees and supervisors/managers approving their timesheets.

The deadline for time entry (electronic timesheets in myOleMiss) and paper timesheets for the current pay period (11/09/20 – 11/23/20) is 12PM on Monday, November 23, 2020.

Accordingly, non-exempt (hourly) employees should provide a reasonable estimate for hours to work on November 23rd.  Should the employee end up working a shorter day or overtime on that day, an adjustment can be made and submitted for the next pay period.

For the following pay period, 11/24/20-12/08/20:

The university will close at noon on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. All non-exempt (hourly) employees should enter 4 hours as Administrative Leave (JURY line) to cover the university closure.

Thursday, November 26, 2020 and Friday, November 27, 2020 are official University holidays and all non-exempt (hourly) employees will enter these two days as “holiday” (HLDY line).

If a non-exempt (hourly) employee works on either holiday, the employee must be given another day off within their normal workweek, credited with compensatory time at one and one-half hours for each hour worked, or be paid at one and one-half times their regular rate in addition to 8 hours of holiday pay.

For the pay period 12/09/20-12/24/20:

The deadline for time entry/approval is 12PM on Monday, December 14th, 2020.  This pay period ends on December 24 so non-exempt (hourly) employees should provide a reasonable estimate for time not yet worked.  Any corrections to estimated time should be made on the January 15, 2021 payroll.

Any corrections to estimated time from the last pay period (11/24/20 – 12/08/19) should be done during this pay period.

If you need any days reset to make corrections please email with your name, employee number, and the day that needs to be reset.

Best to you and your family during the Thanksgiving Break!
