The Lunacy Radio Hour, starring Mab Segrest

Professor Mab Segrest (Emerita, Connecticut College) will host 'The Lunacy Radio Hour,' a free webinar, Tuesday, March 9, at 5:00 PM.


Join Professor Mab Segrest for "The Lunacy Radio Hour," a free Zoom webinar in conjunction with the 2021 Edith T. Baine Lecture for Scholars and Writers.  Sponsored by the Department of English, the Center for the Study of Southern Culture, and the Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies, the program is scheduled for Tuesday, March 9 at 5:00 PM and will focus on the history and treatment of mental illness in the state of Mississippi and at the University of Mississippi.  Professor Segrest's guests will include Professor Jay Watson (UM Department of English), Dr. Ralph H. Didlake (UM Medical Center), and Ms. Jeni Bond (V. B. Harrison Health Center, UM).

Mab Segrest is the author of Administrations of Lunacy: Racism and the Haunting of American Psychiatry at the Milledgeville Asylum (New Press, 2020) and a longtime activist for social justice movements in the US South.
