American Sign Language Interpreting

Student Disability Services will assist in the coordination of interpreting services

The University of Mississippi is committed to ensuring communication access to those who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. To that end, upon request, Student Disability Services (SDS) will assist in the coordination of interpreting services for campus events, activities, and meetings.

Those requesting an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter for a non-classroom related university event, activity, or meeting, should make those requests through the SDS interpreting portal. An SDS employee will then reach out to get more information about the event, activity, or meeting.  The interpreting portal can be found on the SDS website at www.sds.olemiss.edu.

IMPORTANT: Requests should be made as far in advance of the event as possible. ASL interpreters are limited in this area and preference is given to direct classroom, and other, interpreting specifically for students registered with SDS.
