Lecture by Nobel Laureate Carl Wieman on October 21st

Nobel Laureate Carl Wieman (Stanford University) will give a talk about teaching and learning on October 21st.


The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the Academic Innovations Group are excited to announce that Dr. Carl Wieman will be giving a talk via Zoom entitled "Taking a Scientific Approach to Teaching Science (and Most Other Subjects)" on Thursday, October 21st, from 3:00-4:15. 

Dr. Wieman is the only person ever to win both a Nobel Prize (Physics, 2001) and the CASE/Carnegie U.S. Professor of the Year honor (2004). He was also recently awarded the Yidan Prize (2020), the world's largest prize for contributions to education. Dr. Wieman is currently a full professor in the Graduate School of Education and in the Department of Physics at Stanford University, where he also holds the DRC Chair in Engineering.
