International Education Week

International Education Week (IEW) is an annual celebration of international education and exchange worldwide.

International Education Week (IEW) is an annual celebration of international education and exchange worldwide as a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State. Institutions across the United States and around the world host events throughout the week to recognize international students, education abroad, and internationalization.  While IEW is officially in late November, institutions can celebrate when it is best for their campus.  For the University of Mississippi, we are celebrating IEW from September 13 – 18, 2021 each day from 10:00 - 2:00 in the Circle.

IEW is designed to celebrate the global reach of education, the presence of students from around the world on our campus, and the expansion of our campus to cultures and destinations around the world through education abroad programming.  This week we hope to highlight the people, organizations, events, and opportunities which make the University of Mississippi a global community and a point of departure for students to explore difference, cultures, and their own place in the world.  We hope you find many of the planned activities intriguing and engaging.

This fall our events will be held mainly in the Circle, an outdoor space where our community can physically distance.  Tables will be set up throughout the week, ending in our Grovin’ with Global Engagement event on game day.
