Spend Winter Intersession in New Orleans & Earn Credit!

Want to start 2022 listening to live music in the famed French Quarter? Sampling beignets at Cafe Du Monde next to the Mighty Mississippi?

"The Crescent City: Writing, Gender, and Culture" (GST395/WRIT398) is a StudyUSA travel course offered in the upcoming January 2022 Winter Intersession. Through this class, you’ll experience the rich history and cultural diversity of New Orleans while earning three credit hours toward your degree. This course counts as a 300-level humanities elective and can meet requirements for a variety of majors and minors.

StudyUSA and the Division of Outreach offer up to $750 grants to students with demonstrated financial need with the intent of reducing the cost of course fees. You may charge tuition and the course fee to your Bursar account. The costs of the course can be paid for with Spring 2022 financial aid (depending on your package). Group transportation to and from New Orleans by van is optional but included at no additional charge. This will be the fourth year we've traveled to New Orleans. We hope you'll join us!

Want more information? Attend an upcoming interest meeting!

Applications for the course are due November 1st. Questions? Email Dr. Rachel Johnson at rejohns3@olemiss.edu. You may also contact Mr. Kevin Gates (kjgates@olemiss.edu) in the StudyUSA office.
