Description: Weights, and Wellness is a program designed to teach the general population about functional weightlifting and its importance. Women's, Men's, and Everyone sessions are offered. Each session will be split in half with a classroom and a weightlifting component. The classroom portion will cover the basics of nutrition, disease prevention, and anatomy and physiology. The weightlifting portion will go over 3 functional lifts: Bench Press, Squat, and Deadlift, along with highlighting Campus Recreation equipment and fitness spaces. These lifts were selected because they simulate everyday movements used in daily tasks. With the help of our certified personal trainers and group fitness instructors, participants will leave with a new knowledge and perspective on exercise and its importance!
