Volunteer Opportunity: MLK Day of Service

The UM Center for Community Engagement is organizing a Day of Service on Monday, January 16th, 2023, from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm.


The UM Center for Community Engagement is organizing a Day of Service on Monday, January 16th, 2023, from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm. This event is being held to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On this day, students, faculty, and staff will join forces alongside community members as voluntary participants in service projects throughout the Oxford/Lafayette area. Through active participation in the community and intentional relationship building, the MLK Day of Service seeks to continue Dr. King’s legacy of love, service, and community.

Check-In will be begin at 11:30 am. Upon arrival, volunteers will be assigned a team with whom they will work on a given project for the duration the event. Volunteers may also register as a group so that they will be assigned the same project.

The first 100 registrants will be given priority for free t-shirts.
