Institute for Data Science: 2023-2024 Internal Grants

Applications for the 2023 Data Science/AI Research Seed Grant and the Data Science/AI Professional Development Grant are still open

The Institute for Data Science (IDS) in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) seeks internal grant applications in two tracks: Track 1: Data Science/AI Research Seed Grants and Track2: Data Science/AI Professional Development Grants in January, 2023. The competition is currently open for submissions, and applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until funds are expended, starting 02/15/2023.

Track1: Data Science/AI Research Seed Grants

This track is for individual UM faculty members or faculty-led UM teams to conduct research projects related to data science or Artificial Intelligence (AI). Diverse teams of faculty from different disciplines and program affiliations within UM are encouraged to apply.

Competitive applications will propose a research project related to data science/AI, with a strategy/vision for pursuing follow-on external funding.

Track 2: Data Science/AI Professional Development Grants

This track is for UM faculty and staff to pursue professional development activities in the area of data science/AI. Applications are sought from current UM faculty and staff from a wide variety of backgrounds, disciplines, and program affiliations.
