Avoid Football Ticket Scams

Helpful tips for students buying resale tickets for Ole Miss football using digital ticket transfers

Please be reminded that there is not a dedicated student resale marketplace for student tickets, and it's important to be cautious when buying resale tickets. Protect yourself against ticket scams, especially with digital transfers for student tickets, by following these helpful tips:

  • Screenshots of tickets will not work for entry so do not accept a screenshot for a ticket.

  • Verify that the purchase is from an active Ole Miss student with an active "@go.olemiss.edu" email.

  • Transfers are issued via student account at students.olemisstix.com and the transfer email comes from "olemisstix@olemiss.edu."

  • Be wary of individuals selling tickets on GroupMe, social media, Craigslist, or other unofficial platforms. Scammers may create fake profiles using information from real students. If something feels off about the interaction, trust your instincts.

Additional best practices:

  • When possible, buy from official sources including authorized ticket resellers.

  • Do not sell tickets to or purchase tickets from someone you do not know.

  • Meet your contact in person and aim to meet in a well-lit, populated place on campus. This allows you to see the person's ticket on their phone and watch them transfer it to you prior to transferring money.

  • If you have a concern about the legitimacy of a ticket, contact the Athletic Ticket Office, 662-915-7167. If you feel that you may have been a victim of a ticket scam, contact University Police & Campus Safety, 662-915-7234.
