Dear University of Mississippi Family, 

We are thrilled to introduce an exclusive professional development opportunity for our staff, brought to you by the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement in collaboration with Human Resources and General Studies. This Fall 2024, elevate your career with RISE@UM - a specially designed academic program tailored for our administrative support professionals or those aspiring to transition into these roles. RISE@UM is more than just a program; it's a pathway to enhancing your professional journey here at UM. Spread across four semesters, this 12-credit hour initiative is dedicated to nurturing the professional and cognitive abilities of staff members who are either currently in or aspire to transition into administrative support roles within our vibrant campus.

What Makes RISE@UM Special? Our curriculum is thoughtfully crafted around four pillars essential for today's administrative professionals: 

  1. Professional and Written Communication - Elevate your communication skills to excel in any professional environment. 
  2. Budget and Operations Management - Gain critical insights into managing resources effectively. 
  3. Leadership - Develop the leader within, ready to inspire and guide. 
  4. Critical Thinking - Sharpen your ability to analyze and solve problems and act with integrity. 

 Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Aspiring participants should not hold a bachelor's degree. 
  • Must be a employee of the University of Mississippi for at least one year. 
  • Participants require their supervisor’s approval to embark on this journey of growth.
